MEDICAL IMAGING BACKGROUND
Our operational Director has extensive experience of working within the field of Medical Imaging, having trained as a Radiographer over 30 years ago. He has worked for both the NHS and Private sectors and his experience includes operational delivery, complex cross sectional imaging such as MRI, CT and PET/CT, business development, contract negotiation and in the development of new services to both the NHS and Private Sector.
He has worked in senior management positions including Managing Director, Business Development Director and Operations Director and has operationally introduced fixed and mobile services in X-ray, MRI, CT, PET/CT and DEXA. As part of the development of bids for large NHS contracts he has developed business and operational models, including care path ways, demand profiles, throughput and staffing solutions. These services included the Fast Track MRI contract, Wave 1 and 2 DoH Diagnostic contracts, Manchester CATS (Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service). He has been involved in a number of service reviews and worked with senior managers to analyse service deliveries, efficiences and implemented service change projects to ensure effective service solutions to client organisations.
As part of a large NHS contract he implemented a Patient Management Centre, including systems and processes, IT solutions and data management. The data management systems included bookings and management of appointments, DNA, and distribution of images and radiology reports. In addition he has lead a team to identify PACS systems suitable for integration with the Patient Management Centre and worked with the operational team to project manage the implementation.
He has brought to market new service solutions including Mobile PET/CT and Cardiac MRI, following Six Sigma project runs jointly with an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Within the PET/CT mobile service he worked with coach manufacturers to design the first UK mobile PET/CT service and developed an implemented new operational procedures and protocols to deliver services to both NHS and Private Hospitals.
In addition he developed advanced training for MRI radiographers with accreditation at Masters level and competency sign off to ensure effective training in this complex cross sectional imaging technique. The training was then provided to NHS and Private Hospitals across the UK
Service Review and Analysis
